Bannery ("Bannery", "we", "us") provides a Shopify app that lets merchants add ready-made banner templates to their storefront. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when a merchant installs and uses the app, why we collect it, and how it is handled.
When you install Bannery on your Shopify store, we collect:
Bannery does not collect your customers' personal information (names, emails, addresses, order history). Banners are displayed to your storefront visitors by a small script that reads only the banner content you configured — it does not read or transmit visitor data.
As required by Shopify for every app, Bannery implements the mandatory compliance webhooks:
customers/data_request — if a store owner's customer asks for their data, we confirm we hold none tied to that customer.customers/redact — same as above; there is no customer-linked data to redact.shop/redact — when a store uninstalls Bannery and the retention window required by Shopify passes, we permanently delete that store's data (banners, settings, shop record) from our database.We do not sell your data or your store's data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
We share data only with service providers that help us run the app (e.g. hosting and database infrastructure), under obligations to keep it confidential and secure, and when required by law.
We keep your store's data for as long as the app is installed. If you uninstall Bannery, we retain the data only as long as required by Shopify's policies before permanently deleting it via the shop/redact process described above.
Access tokens and store data are stored in a database that is not publicly accessible, and all communication between the app and Shopify uses HTTPS. We limit access to production data to the people who need it to operate Bannery.
The Bannery admin screens (embedded in Shopify admin) use cookies/local storage required for the app to function inside Shopify's App Bridge. The banner script shown to storefront visitors does not set cookies.
Depending on where your business is located, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA to access, correct or delete the data we hold about your store. You can exercise these rights at any time by contacting us, or by uninstalling the app which triggers deletion as described above.
Bannery is a business tool for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.
